You will ‘Never Forget’ (book review)

What would you do if the answer to your problems appeared right in front of you but the solution required lies to be told?

never-forgetAbbie is at her wits end. Her grandfather struggles with dementia and is agitated when life isn’t routine. Her grandfather is the keeper of the lighthouse – or was until his health got in the way. Abbie is running the lighthouse but not everyone agrees a woman can do the job. They are on the brink of losing the lighthouse. Abbie fears her grandfather’s health will worsen if forced to move.

The solution, in the form of a man, washes ashore. It has to be a sign, right? Nathaniel has no idea who he is or why he is in a room at the lighthouse recuperating. Abbie begins to lie to him and everyone – doing it all for her grandfather. It can’t be all bad if she doesn’t tell the whole truth…can it?

The longer the lie is told, the harder it is to tell the truth. And, the more Abbie begins to feel for Nathaniel. How will she tell him the truth when she could lose not only him but everything she loves? Relying on God and trusting Him is a hard lesson. One Nathaniel and Abbie both need to learn.

Author Jody Hedlund has done it again. I know I say that every time I review one of her books but it is true. Honest. She weaves a story that has the reader thinking, “What would I do?”

Never Forget is filled with many twist and turns, still waters and huge waves. And, of course she throws in characters I tend to yell at in my mind! The author even had me thinking something so obvious wasn’t. I thought, “Okay, how is she going to get the character out of this one!”

Never Forget is author Jody Hedlund’s fifth and final book in the Beacon of Hope series. Haven’t read books one through four? No problem. It can be read as a standalone. It is a FIVE STAR book in my book.
